The federal government should work towards the immediate cancellation of the contract between the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In return, the role of WHO in the investigation health effects of disasters should be strengtened, The Greens called in application (17/5769). As the time window for a cancellation request: the General Assembly of the WHO of 16 to 24 May 2011 in Geneva.
The over “decades” secret agreement “of 1959 regulates that making studies of radiation effects made by WHO are only done in consultation with the IAEA. Atomic Energy Authority Members therefore take decisive influence on the health assessment of nuclear disasters, without a mandate or have sufficient expertise and independence:
The main objectives of both organizations were in an “irreconcilable conflict”- here to promote the peaceful use of nuclear power, where the goal of “all nations and people to achieve the best possible health help. ”

This contradiction reveals itself not least in the “untenable difference of the data on the number of deaths” in consequence of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Even with the disaster of Fukushima, the WHO currently has no dedicated team on site, could raise the radiation levels, regardless of nuclear power plant operator Tepco and the IAEA.
“Adequate provisioning and disaster management” but needed independent survey, evaluation and publication of such data, the Green Party wrote in their application

This is a video I’ve made yesterday, after returning form the SPD congress “Tschernobyl Mahnt” – 13.04.11
Steinmeier is the fraction leader of the SPD – who invited Chernobyl NGO’s from Germany and guests from Belarus (Liquidator, Doctor) to German “Bundestag” / Chernobyl 25 years, on April 13th 2011. Among the guests were Prof. Dr. Irina Gruschewaja (Children of Chernobyl, Minsk) and the belarusian ambassador in Berlin, and the former german ambassador in Minsk. I’ve been there, in 2006, where Chernobyl Children read the Youth Resolution of Chernobyl, which young germans and belarusians developed.
