The official belarusian radiation maps from the Radiation Atlas of the Government (NOT PUBLIC) show the change over the decades (1986 – 2046):And there is NEVER a CLEAN area. I had the chance to look into the Radiation Atlas, when our NGO visited the  Kosmo Aero Geology Institute of Belarus (http://www.kosmoaerogeology.by)

“Taking into account increased sensitivity of cells of different organs and tissues of animals from chronically irradiated populations to induction of all types of mutations – genic, genomic (polyploid cells) and structural (chromosome aberrations), it is necessary to emphasise that the areas with a wide range of radiocontamination density due to the Chernobyl fallout (8-2351 kBq/m² in our tests) are zones with high genetic risk for animals and man.” http://www.rri.kyoto-u.ac.jp/NSRG/reports/kr21/kr21pdf/Goncharova.pdf

“Germline mutation at human minisatellite loci has been studied among children born in heavily polluted areas of the Mogilev district of Belarus after the Chernobyl accident and in a control population. The frequency of mutation was found to be twice as high in the exposed families as in the control group. Mutation rate in the Mogilev families was correlated with the level of caesium-137 surface contamination, consistent with radiation induction of germline mutation.” http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8614461

The testament of Prof. Dr. Gennady Grushevoy was published.
“When nearly five years ago, I learned that I had leukemia – a violation of the structure of DNA – I told myself I was lucky in my life, because I’m dead on with life than fighting. But I will not give up by any chance Chernobyl. My ight which started April 26, 1986, at which ‘m the last 27 years on. I am with those who worked after / a Chernobyl . My “departure” is the logical conclusion of my life. Such care was given to me by God and destiny. And I take it as a soldier in the war, because it is better to die in the attack at the front than at the “rear” of malaria.

Perhaps this fate convinces someone that Belarus has no future if the Chernobyl consequences are ignored. You can not hope to flee this tragedy or hide or escape. That is why the government should engage in a serious way concerning Chernobyl. Only then will the nation has any hope of salvation. At one time I fought for the post-Chernobyl Belarus. Today, half of Europe is fighting for me. Europeans give me the drugs that I could not give belarusian patients. And with this advance I should work on full …”

Interview “Hessischer Rundfunk” (Radio Station Germany) with Dr. Rosa Goncharova, from Minsk, Belarus http://www.hr-online.de/servlet/de.hr.cms.servlet.File/11-042?enc=d3M9aHJteXNxbCZibG9iSWQ9MTIwMTQ3NTImaWQ9NDExMDgxNDEmZm9yY2VEb3dubG9hZD0x

Goncharova

photo from VIDEO “Nuclear Controversies” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCIto-rsa8o

She is a speaker at the coming Symposium “Consequences of Nuclear disasters of Nature and Man” – sign and attend here: http://tekknorg.wordpress.com/2014/01/01/sign-march-4th-7th-2014-chernobyl-fukushima-symposium-with-real-independent-experts/

INTERVIEW STARTS:

02 Speaker 1 “An everyday scene in the radiological monitoring station of Komarin in Belarus: A woman knocks on the laboratory door and brings a plastic bag full of pumpkin seeds. Here, levels of radioactivity of food from the contaminated zone is measured.

04 Speaker 1 “We are only about 30 kilometers from Chernobyl and close to the exclusion zone. The remote village is heavily contaminated since the nuclear disaster in neighboring Ukraine . Who lives here, who collects mushrooms here or foods of unknown origin carries home, would do well to let them inspect before consumption.

06 Speaker 1 “If the maximum permissible dose too strong exceeds, the food will be disposed as hazardous waste in the deserted 30 – kilometer zone.

08 Speaker 1 “The Woman with the pumpkin seeds is lucky. The limit of 270 becquerels per kilogram is not exceeded. Anastasija Fedosenko  director of the laboratory, complains : “In this area there is only a single measurement station, which is freely accessible to residents at all times . Previously there were six .

10 Speaker 1 “In Belarus, hundreds of thousands of people in areas that are contaminated by the explosion of the Chernobyl reactor still for centuries live there. Today it is mainly cesium -137, which provides for continuous radiation . Cesium-137 has a half -life of about 30 years. The safety formula is in the West: ” half-life x 13 times” . Eastern scientists anticipate ” half-life x 10 times” . According to these formulas, cesium -137 is not harmful to humans after Eastern invoice after 301 years , according to Western accounts it is dangerous even after 392 years. In other words, only after about 13 generations of men, the danger is gone.

12 Speaker 1 change of location. “Rosa Goncharova ‘s geneticist. In the Belarusian capital, Minsk, she directs the Laboratory of the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences. For decades, the professor and her team investigate the effects of long-lasting radioactive low-level radiation . What harm take people living in contaminated areas? Have to life, because otherwise 2600 villages must be relocated. Rosa Gonchrova summarizes the results of their studies this way:

13 Russian original sound Goncharova
14 Voice Over 1 “One of the key findings from Chernobyl is the fact that even low doses of ionizing radiation in animals and humans have biological and genetic consequences. This is proved today . They produce damage in the body cells and in gametes. Genetic changes were observed in our laboratory Even at a low dose of less than 100 microsieverts and even at a tolerated annual dose of one millisievert .

15 Speaker 1 “round a Milllisievert per year : This is the annual dose limit for people who do not work with these ionizing radiations and our research team found changes in the genetic material of the cell nucleus with this dose limit. For occupationally exposed persons even higher limits apply in Europe

16 Russian original sound Goncharova
17 Voice Over 1 Man , “like every other living thing, man has protection systems that repair such mutations. If man is now under the influence of additional radioactivity it is an additional burden to the organism, he must fight also against it, mutation occur.

18 Speaker 1 “But what are the consequences? Rosa Goncharova explains one of the effects on the basis of observations in children in the contaminated areas .”

19 Russian original sound Goncharova
20 Voice Over 1 “For these children, changes were found involving single genes. And the bad thing is that these children have an increased sensitivity to other unfavorable factors. That is, these children fall ill more often than others. Among the unfavorable factors are poor diet, environmental factors, chemical pollution. This applies not only for children but also for adults. They all have an increased sensitivity to other unfavorable factors.

[ personal addition;
Not better diagnostics
MORE SICK by LOWER TOLERANCE ]

21 Speaker 1 In plain English: “Who has spent his life in contaminated area, whose immune system is weakened. Radioactivity opens the doors for other health problems. The most dangerous radiation is that which is consumed in the diet. Thus, cesium -137 , for example acts from the inside on the cells, since it displaces the vital potassium in muscle tissue. Or, strontium -90, a radionuclide , which accumulates in the bones and in the bone marrow : It can get damage blood cells and as a result blood cancer can be caused”

“On the question of whether they are inherited changes in the genetic material to the next generation” , says geneticist Rosa Goncharova :

22 Russian original sound Goncharova
23 VoiceOver 1 , “we have shown for the first time genetic changes over generations of time passed in our laboratory. We have found a genomic instability after Chernobyl over 22 animal generations. These are animals that live in the contaminated areas who have to live under the influence of low doses. We have scientifically proven.”

24 Speaker 1 “Proven with one of the most common mammals in the bank vole. The cells of these mice were comparable with those of the people , says the researcher. Therefore, one could transfer many findings from it to man.

25 Russian original sound Goncharova
26 Voice Over 1 “Even after 22 generations of mice you can still see changes, mutations. They are inherited . The radioactivity remains Harmful . It so happens that many offspring or even many embryos do not survive . Those who survive , somehow come to terms with the situation. But whose genetic material is unstable , and that they also give in the next generation. And they are often sick. Your whole system is more unstable than in other animals .

[ personal addition; Mice developed a new type of cancer, AFTER 25 GENERATIONS (quote: “unusual cancer after 25 generations” at http://books.google.de/books?id=3gUAAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA56&lpg=PA56#v=onepage&q=mewissen%20fo-cuses%20on%2025&f=false

27 Speaker 1 "This means that you pay a price." Rosa Goncharova :

28 O-Ton Rosa Goncharova
29 VoiceOver 1 "The mortality rate in these animals is very very high. But mice produce very many offspring  and therefore they CAN afford a high death rate. Man, however, will usually produce only one child. Definitely not five, six, seven at a time. In addition, he does not bring several generations in a year or during his life to the world. So we can not transfer all parts of the results that actually are transmitto humans."

30 Speaker 1"The effects of low doses of radiation are pointed in  a study that was published in December 2010 in Germany . It says within 35 kilometers of a nuclear plant fewer girls are born than in areas without nuclear power . We investigated the region of 27 plants in Germany and four in Switzerland. Less female births were stated earlier : In regions that were hit by the Chernobyl radioactive precipitation . It is believed that female embryos are more radiosensitive and therefore more likely to die than male ."

[personal addition: “The sex ratio (ratio of male to female live births) is significantly decreased in October 2011, 7 months after the Fukushima reactor accident. The sex ratio in October 2011 is lowest in the whole study period (January 1998 through March 2013).” http://alfred-koerblein.de/fukushima/english/index.htm

[personal additon: "the human sex ratio at birth in several European countries before and after the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident was investigated. A long-term chronic impact of radioactive fallout on the secondary sex ratio has been found" http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/env.958/abstract;jsessionid=69E27384F9B8CCE48A54AADC6FDA0606.d02t03

ICRP, COMARE, UNSCEAR, BEIR, WHO, EU and Nuclear Industry.” and: “New research shows that if a cell is hit, its progeny are likely to suffer from an increased tendency to general mutation. This is called genomic instability.”  PAGE 2 + 3]
32 Speaker 1 “mathematics teaching in a school in the region of Gomel. The second largest city of Belarus and the surrounding areas were severely affected by the Chernobyl around. – Aliaksandr Dmitrievitch is in Gomel director of the State radioecological Institute. There, too,do scientists research of potential consequences of low-level radiation. In the white blood cells of mice, says Aliaksandr Dmitirevitch, changes in the cell nucleus during long periods of low-level radiation are observed . And that five to eight times as often as in the control group.

[personal addition: overview Gomel: http://www.rbic.by/…/articles/files/Oblast_Gomel-Map.pdf

33 Russian original sound Dmitrievich
34 Voice Over 2 “There are changes in the DNA structure . For example, rings or micronuclei form . These are changes in the structure of DNA chains. There, for example, arise fractures.

35 Speaker 1 “The younger the mice, the faster you see changes, says Dmitirevitch .”

[personal addition: Nesterenko, founder of BELRAD: “Children receive the highest doses, because the dose coefficients, in a 3 year old child, are 5 times higher than in adults.“ http://tekknorg.wordpress.com/2012/04/14/children-radiation-maps-2/

36 Russian original sound Dmitrievich
37 Voice Over 2 “The effect of ionizing radiation on an organism can accelerate the development of cancer.”
38 Speaker 1 “In laboratory rats , researchers at the radioecological Institute in Gomel have made a more frightening discovery.

39 Russian original sound Dmitrievich
40 Voice Over 2 “The sixth generation comes not to the world. There is simply no sixth generation, it works somehow no longer with the offspring.

41 Speaker 1 “Aliaksandr Dmitrievitch emphasizes, however, that the observed cell damage can also be caused by other environmental influences . Therefore, a direct relationship has not been established with Chernobyl : A set that can be heard by most of Belarusian scientists. Although there is ample evidence of the relationship between cell damage and radioactive low-level radiation. But there are no independent institutions in Belarus. You are responsible for all the doctrine of the authoritarian state. And today played down the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster . – Aliaksandr Dmitrievitch but does not want to play down after insisting the influence of radioactivity.”

[personal addition: Lukashenka wants to repopulate Chernobyl Chernobyl’s Zone “quickly” http://charter97.org/en/news/2009/4/26/17680/

[personal addition: "The Foundation The Children of Chernobyl in Belarus had to gave up it's legal status in Januar 2014. A new organization was founded and the application for legal recognition.
Twice, however, the name had to be changed – the word “Chernobyl”  is NOT allowed anymore and must not appear in the new name!

He says :

42 Russian original sound Dmitrievich
43 Voice Over 2 “It is always inflicts damage. And depending on how big the damage to the cells is and as many occur at onc, it can eventually lead to death.

49 Speaker 1 “The consequences of the Chernobyl disaster are  far from over. The people of Belarus, so it looks for many decades, if not centuries, is to suffer the consequences.”

[personal addition: “not until 2016, at the earliest, will we know the full number of those likely to develop serious medical conditions.” former Secretary-General Kofi Annan http://www.un.org/ha/chernobyl/docs/sgsm7778.htm

“The activity concentrations of 137Cs, 134Cs, 90Sr, 238Pu, 239,240Pu, 241Pu and 241Am in soil and in animals were measured at five monitoring sites with different ground deposition of radionuclides at different distances from the destroyed reactor. The observed temporal pattern of the radionuclide activity concentration in the studied animal populations reflects the changes in biological availability of these isotopes for biota, mostly due to fuel particle destruction and appearance of dissolved and exchangeable forms of radionuclides. Maximal values of the whole-body absorbed dose rates occurred during the year of deposition, followed by a decrease in the subsequent period. Generally, this decrease was monotonic, mainly determined by the decrease of the external c-ray dose rate, but there were exceptions due to the delayed maximum of internal exposure. The inter-individual distributions of radionuclide concentrations and lifetime whole-body absorbed doses were asymmetric and close to log-normal, including concentrations and doses considerably higher than the population mean values.” PDF: http://www.enfants-tchernobyl-belarus.org/extra/pdf-divers/telecharge.php?pdf=etb-037.pdf

“There are data on high rates of genic mutations in animal and human populations in the areas radiocontaminated by the Chernobyl fallout. So, the frequency of germline mutations at human minisatellite loci in children born on heavily polluted areas of Belarus was found to be twice as high as in the control group. In two species of voles (Microtus arvalis and M. rossiaemeridionalis), collected near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the range of genic mutations was hundreds of times greater than those typically found in vertebrates. Taking into account increased sensitivity of cells of different organs and tissues of animals from chronically irradiated populations to induction of all types of mutations – genic, genomic (polyploid cells) and structural (chromosome aberrations), it is necessary to emphasise that the areas with a wide range of radiocontamination density due to the Chernobyl fallout (8-2351 kBq/m² in our tests) are zones with high genetic risk for animals and man.” http://www.rri.kyoto-u.ac.jp/NSRG/reports/kr21/kr21pdf/Goncharova.pdf

“Base-pair substitution rates for the mitochondrial cytochrome beta gene of free-living, native populations of voles collected next to reactor 4 at Chernobyl, Ukraine, were estimated by two independent methods to be in excess of 10(-4) nucleotides per site per generation. These estimates are hundreds of times greater than those typically found in mitochondria of vertebrates, suggesting that the environment resulting from this nuclear power plant disaster is having a measurable genetic impact on the organisms of that region. Despite these DNA changes, vole populations thrive and reproduce in the radioactive regions around the Chernobyl reactor.” http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8614463

“Transgenerational accumulation of radiation damage in small mammals chronically exposed to Chernobyl fallout” PDF: http://www.enfants-tchernobyl-belarus.org/extra/pdf-divers/telecharge.php?pdf=etb-068.pdf “With regard to the continuous buildup of transgenerationally-transmitted damage in the course of chronic radiation exposure of the parental generations, we will shortly speak of the transgenerational accumulation of transmitted biological damage” ignored by World’s Science.

Prof. Dr. Hedy fritz-niggli, Switzerland: “Ionizing radiation produces the same mutations as they occur naturally. The former, however, gives rise to coarser changes of chromosome structure. Mutations are irreversible injuries. Smallest doses may cause harm. The present stage of our knowledge does not permit an accurate statement on the kind of mutation. We can only see extreme changes of ion-density exercise influence the number of the mutations produced. At the various stages of the formation of germcells sensitivity to radiation is different. Water content and oxygen tension of the environments bear on the number of mutations produced. Anoxybiosis protects against radiation effects so that these occur mainly indirectly.Germ cells of various age respond in a different way to ion-density and to changes in environment.” https://www.thieme-connect.com/ejournals/abstract/10.1055/s-0029-1212990

In 1970 he said:
10 milli gray create 2 point mutations among 1,000 gametes. These are one seventieth ofl the natural mutation rate. If you take all chromosome mutations 10 milli gray produce one-tenth of the total mutation rate. If each year the maximum allowable dose is reached (5 mSv) the genetic mutation rate is increased in 30 years (one generation) by a fifth.
