During the 1977 IAEA conference on May 5th pro nuclear scientist Alvin M. Weinberg held a speech about the safety flaws of the nuclear system.
(“Alvin M. Weinberg of the Institutefor Energy Analysis, Oak RidgeAssociated Universities (USA) gave aninvited evening lecture during theconference. His topic was “NuclearEnergy at the Turning Point”. – quote by IAEA)
Above all, he threw to ask which are necessary technical and institutional fixes, to make nuclear energy future-proof.
His special contribution to accident prevention through social activities lies in its very known proposal to some kind of nuclear priesthood, whose members are the responsibility over centuries and millennia for nuclear energy and nuclear waste.
Elite teams also should ensure that all safety rules are always strictly adhered to.
This squad could claim a high authority, because of the fateful future importance of nuclear security.
