A worker of the French atomic power plant “Fessenheim” (Location: Alsace) was contaminated with radiation. According to a weekly published information paper the dose was one one-hundred below the yearly legal maximum limit. The man now works again.
Fessenheim is the oldest French atomic power plant, several breakdowns happened the days before. In the night from October 24th there was a defect on a pump inside of reactor number 1.
These pumps deliever water to the generators. In July 2007 the French atomic controlling agency ASN gave Fessenheim bad grades. The carefulness was deficient.
Since 1997 tree huggers want to shut down the atomic power plant. On November 10th 2007 they are going to have a protest breakfast right infront of the atomic power plant.
